Reception: Friday, June 24, 6-8 pm
No Boundaries, the NW touring exhibit showcasing artists with disabilities has invited artists into the juried show and traveled annually for 23 years across Washington and into 4 other NW states. The 2015 exhibit titled “Peripheral Visions” is honored to be exhibited at MBNCA this June and July. The work of 31 artists have been accepted into this year’s traveling show, including artists from around King County to Bellingham and over to Port Townsend.
“This year’s touring show exhibits a strong synthesis of contemporary professional art and Outsider Art, an art genre representing untrained artists whose work is outside the influence of current culture and art.” Outsider Art has gained international acclaim since its inception early in the 20th century. We are proud to share the work of these Washington artists in various state venues, concluding the 2015 tour at the Washington State Convention Center in December. The exhibit is curated by Shariana Mundi, Inclusive Arts Educator and exhibit coordinator from ArtAbility Faire. Hats off also, to 4culture for their vision and generous support of No Boundaries!
